Janet Sanchez is an Army wife, a two-term MFAN advisor, and the founder and president of Esposas Militares Hispanas USA, a nonprofit that offers information in Spanish about military benefits and services to Hispanic military families. The organization works to overcome the language barriers that might prevent Spanish-speaking families from accessing the resources available to members of the military community.
She spends much of her time volunteering with military organizations. She has represented military families in the Texas Senate, testifying in support of legislation that would help military spouses obtain occupational licenses. She also represented military families on the planning committee for the Federal Veterans Employment Information Symposium with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and Texas A&M University San Antonio.
