A keen ally of service members and veterans, Cameron Brien is a Director of Engineering at Meta where he works on trust and safety.
Cameron supports one of several teams of dedicated engineers tasked with reducing harm and preserving voice across Meta’s platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Before joining Meta, he was a Managing Director with Goldman Sachs, spending over a decade in its Global Markets business. Earlier in his career, he worked at several start-ups, including ad tech leader AppNexus.
His primary philanthropic interests lie in military and veterans’ support, and criminal justice reform. Cameron has particularly enjoyed mentoring veterans during their initial civilian transitions and supporting Afghan allies and their families who have resettled in Northern Virginia, where he resides.
Cameron is proud to be the grandson of a military physician and a heavy bomber pilot, both of whom served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. His maternal grandfather flew in the European theater and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for Valor.
He received his BSE in Electrical Engineering and a certificate in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.
