Janice oversees MFAN’s program strategy, including the advisory board, coalitions, and resource connection.
Janice Walton joined MFAN in April 2023 with over a decade of experience as a program and people management leader in the corporate, non-profit, ed-tech, and consulting fields.
Her work has included developing an international professional development program, drafting strategic plans for advocacy firms, managing complex grant programs, creating communications plans for organizations, and building and supporting internal teams.
Before joining the MFAN team, she spent two years in Germany. Driven by a passion to help fellow military families, she began working with a contractor on the Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service’s (VETS) Transition Assistance Program (TAP), which supports transitioning service members and their families. During that time, she worked as the Regional Manager for Europe and the Middle East, overseeing the daily operations of facilitating the DOL VETS TAP workshops for transitioning service members at installations throughout seven countries. She also managed the DOL’s Employment Navigator and Partnership Pilot (ENPP) at three locations in Germany.
Janice has a Master’s in Public Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Virginia Tech. She also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate.
Mrs. Walton enjoys reading, cycling, yoga, and traveling in her free time. She is very proud to be an active duty Air Force spouse and has enjoyed exploring the many places the Air Force has sent her family.
